ABOUT THE PIECE:

Charles Dickens in 1851 described Broadstairs, Kent as "Our English Watering-Place". He loved it so much he lived in a beautiful castle-like property atop the cliff, "Bleak House". Queen Victoria stayed there, Dickens penned many notable works from his study overlooking Viking Bay, and a warren of smugglers' caves weave beneath the mansion. Tjili's grandparents live on the cliff top at the opposite end of the sandy bay, and our whole family agrees that Broadstairs is a fabulous watering-place.
