ABOUT THE PIECE:
A few weeks ago TJILI painted a lovely technicolour version of her favourite dog, a Labrador Retriever belonging to a good friend.
Shortly after, powerful earthquakes devastated Mexico (one of which was the strongest in a century). Hundreds of people were killed and homes, schools and community buildings were destroyed.
Emerging from the tragedy came the story of Frida, one of the many brave rescue dogs that work tirelessly to help find people during Mexico’s natural disasters.
We learned that Frida has detected over 50 buried bodies throughout her 7-year career, at least a dozen of whom were alive.
As TJILI's painting closely resembles our four-legged heroine, we decided to name it Frida and, to honour the courage of Frida and her fellow rescuers, 20% of all proceeds from the sale of Frida will be donated by TJILI to GlobalGiving’s “Mexico Earthquake Relief Fund”.
The Mexico Earthquake Relief Fund provides immediate relief to earthquake survivors and supports the longer-term recovery efforts run by local vetted organizations to help residents rebuild their homes, communities, and livelihoods.

Frida
THE ORIGINAL (2017)
An original watercolour painting by TJILI, created using graphite pencil and fine watercolour pastels on art paper. The painting is signed by TJILI and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity to certify that the artwork you purchase is indeed unique and original, one of a kind. The certificate describes the artwork, title, date, medium, size and a unique catalogue number along with TJILI's original signature.
SPECIAL EDITIONS
A special edition run of 125 giclée fine-art prints based on the original watercolour painting by TJILI. Each is hand-numbered, embossed and personally signed by TJILI, and comes with its own Certificate of Authenticity which describes the artwork, title, date, medium, size and a unique edition number along with TJILI's original signature. These fine-art prints are exhibition-quality, produced in accordance with Fine Art Trade Guild standards by our award-winning partners using state-of-the-art professional giclée inkjet machines and hand-picked Hahnemühle museum-grade archival paper to produce the highest possible quality of fine-art prints available anywhere worldwide.
